John F Craig House
Built in 1866, the Craig House Bed and Breakfast is a Victorian inn in New Jersey with a casual and relaxing atmosphere.
With open porches for summer and glassed-in porches and fireplaces for winter, the John F. Craig House is a gracious, yet fun place to be year-round in Cape May, NJ. In the middle of Cape May's Historic District, just a block from the beach and a block from the Pedestrian Mall, the inn is at the center of town life. The 1866 Carpenter Gothic inn is all you expect from quality New Jersey lodging accommodations and some things you may not. Whimsy reigns, with a vintage collection of toys, majolica and bawdy ladies of the turn of the century, as well as from the fun and welcoming personalities of the innkeepers.
Due in part to its award-winning beaches (Cape May was recognized as one of America's top 10 beaches by the Travel Channel), designation as the top birding location on the East Coast, Cape May's many Victorian structures and the island's rich history, Cape May is a seaside resort that draws visitors from all over the world. It was ranked the fifth best beach in New Jersey in the 2008 Top 10 Beaches Contest sponsored by the New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium.
Cape May began hosting vacationers from Philadelphia in the mid 1700s and is recognized by the United States government as the country's oldest seaside resort.
